  1. What is #FixPolitics?

Answer: #FixPolitics is a citizens-led movement conceived to structurally #Fix the broken Politics that has impeded good governance in Nigeria and countries in Africa.

  1. What does #FixPolitics do?

Answer: #FixPolitics focuses on rebuilding the Triangular Pillars of Democracy by:

  • Building a productive, informed, motivated, and actively engaged electorate to demonopolise and rebalance power relations between the electorate and the political class.
  • Investing in New political leadership talents to build a massive base and pipeline of a new and disruptive thinking political class.
  • Compelling major political, constitutional and electoral reforms.

 

  1. Is #FixPolitics a political party?

Answer: No, #FixPolitics is not a political party or a governmental organisation, and it is not affiliated to nor partisan in favour of any political party. #FixPolitics is a not-for-profit social movement.

 

  1. Why should I be interested in fixing politics?

Answer: Politics impact every aspect of our lives from birth to death. As Plato said: “If you do not take an interest in the affairs of your government, then you are doomed to live under the rule of fools”.

 

  1. Does #FixPolitics have a physical office?

Answer: Yes, #FixPolitics has a physical office at: 72b, Kwame Nkrumah Crescent, Asokoro District, Abuja FCT, Nigeria.

 

  1. How long has this organisation been in existence?

Answer: #FixPolitics Initiative was officially launched at a conference live-streamed in Lagos on February 16 – 17, 2020 and has been in operation since then.

 

  1. How can I Become a member of #FixPolitics?

Answer: Membership of #FixPolitics is by nomination by an existing Work Study Group (WSG) Member of #FixPolitics. Nominations into #FixPolitics are done periodically.

 

  1. How can I work or intern with #FixPolitics?

Answer: If you believe you have the skills and competency to add value to the work we do at #FixPolitics, as a staff, Intern or volunteer, please send your CV and Statement of interest to ed@fixpolitics.org

Consideration of applications is based on staffing needs/vacancy.

 

 

  1. Is it possible to fix politics in Nigeria?

Answer: #FixPolitics believes that structural solutions can be implemented to #Fix politics in Nigeria. That is what #FixPolitics is currently doing.

 

 

  1. What are the structural solutions #FixPolitics is implementing to help Fix politics in Nigeria?

Answer:

#FixPolitics proposes a three-pronged concurrent, systematic, triangulated measures – The Triangular Pillars of Democracy:

  • Build a productive, informed, motivated, and actively engaged electorate to demonopolise and rebalance power relations between the electorate and the political class;
  • Invest in new political leadership talents to build a massive base and pipeline of a new and disruptive thinking political class;
  • Compel major political, electoral and constitutional reforms

  1. Does #FixPolitics accept partnerships with other organisations?

Answer: Yes, #FixPolitics partners with other organisations that share similar values, vision and mission.

 

  1. Is #FixPolitics only for the elite?

Answer: NO. #FixPolitics comprises of Work study group members who are competent, ethically-driven, passionate, reform minded individuals who have excelled in their area of expertise and are now volunteering their time, talent and treasure to help #Fix the broken politics that have compromised good governance and democracy in Nigeria and other African countries.

 

  1. Are there local representatives of #FixPolitics in every state in Nigeria?

Answer: While #FixPolitics membership cuts across, gender, religious, geopolitical, and state lines, #FixPolitics is however not structured to have state representatives.

 

  1. How do I participate in the activities of #FixPolitics from my location?

Answer: Follow #FixPolitics’ social media handles and website. You will find regular updates of our program activities. You can register to attend those activities taking place virtually or in a location near you.

 

 

  1. How can I support #FixPolitics financially?

Answer : You can support #FixPolitics financially by either going to the #FixPolitics website and click on the “Donate” button or you can send an email to the Executive Director, #FixPolitics at: ed@fixpolitics.org

 

 

  1. Are there other support means #FixPolitics allows?

Answer: Yes, you may sign up to be a volunteer resource, and donate material resources like laptops, data bandwidth, etc.

 

  1. What are the requirements to be a student at the SPPG?

Answer: Please visit www.thesppg.org

 

  1. Can I attend the SPPG from my location?

Answer: Yes. SPPG is an online school. Students can attend classes and participate in activities from anywhere in Nigeria as long as they have access to the internet and a computing device.

 

  1. How much does it take to enrol in the school of Fix Politics?

  1. Does one have access to a seat in government after attending the SPPG?

Answer: SPPG is committed to encouraging its alumni to run for public office, secure appointment/employment in public service or starts a non-governmental organization to advance the knowledge they have gained.
